The Marblehead Conservancy Wildflower Committee has taken on the challenge of converting the weed and invasive infested 4-acre Lead Mills site into a native wildflower meadow with the additional goal of rebuilding challenged populations of native pollinators. We have planted thousands of square feet of wildflowers and shrubs and are making gradual progress. In order to see how we are doing we have hired a professional entomologist specializing in pollinators to occasionally count them at the Lead Mills. This report shows the current state of pollinators at the Lead Mills over the growing season 2025. We will have him update it in future years. The report is well written and analyzed, with interesting and attractive pictures.
