Following his completion of 2026 pollinator surveying at Marblehead’s Lead Mills Conservation area, ecologist and educator, Dr. Nick Dorian, will lead another Pollinator Safari on Tuesday, August 18th at 10 am (rain date: Wednesday, August 19 at 10 am). This 90-minute walk will explore native pollinator plantings, learn more about pollinators including their names, their life cycles, and their intricate relationships with plants. You’ll come away with a newfound appreciation for insects and a deeper understanding of how land stewardship and gardening can positively benefit pollinator biodiversity. About Nick Dorian:
Nick Dorian, Ph.D. (nicholasdorian.com) is an ecologist, educator, and naturalist. As a scientist, Nick studies the ecology and conservation of insect pollinators. His original educational programs on pollinators and native plants enchant audiences nationwide and help people connect to nature starting in their backyards. Nick’s work has also been featured in leading academic journals, and in venues like CBS News, The Boston Globe, and the Tedx stage. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology at City College of New York. Nick gave a very well received talk at the Conservancy’s 2026 annual meeting.
