Seniors are invited to join Laurie Hark on Thursday, October 1, at 9:30 am, for a stroll through this lush conservation area. We will meet at the Lead Mills entrance on Lafayette St (Rte 114) for a short walk to observe and discuss the pollinator garden planted by the Marblehead Conservancy along Lafayette St. Continuing along the upper trail, we will share the history of the property and observe the plants, birds and insects that call it home. We will continue over to the Harbor Glade area on Salem Harbor to spot shorebirds as they prepare to migrate to warmer climates.

Please bring your binoculars. This easy walk will take approximately one hour and is limited to 20 participants.  Park on Rte 114 (Lafayette St) or Carna Rd, the first street when heading toward Marblehead on the left.

Laurie, a Marbleheader, who has led tours for Audubon, PEM and Greenbelt, will be your guide to the history of Lead Mills and what the Marblehead Conservancy has accomplished with it after Salem and Marblehead acquired the property in 2012.
